I can truly say that I love being in this position. Of course, there are hard times. And when the ministry is hard, it always effects family life. Thanks for this post! What a great reminder to pray for our dads. Thanks for the comment, Hannah! Thank you so much for writing this! Thank you for your kind words, Mykah!
I receive dozens of emails from pastors each week. This one caught my attention and I asked permission to use it here. Hopefully others will benefit from my response and weigh in with their own thoughts. I have changed his name. Ron, I hope all is well with you.
I was singing with the choir and I noticed that there was a guest preacher in the pulpit. He’s older, intelligent and has a confident aura. On top of that, he’s not bad looking. I could tell that he was in shape by how his body looked in his suit. My seat was directly behind where I was sitting in the choir stand and during his sermon, I kept thinking that he was turning around to speak to the choir a lot. He was watching me every chance that he could get. I spoke to him after church ended and I made my rounds to my fellow members and when I ended up speaking to him, he started off by saying, “Wow” never elaborated on why he said that and having this big ass smile on his face- he was clearly attracted to me.
He almost pulled out his phone, then I think he realized that would’ve been too forward and ended up giving me his card and made sure to point out his cell number. I haven’t texted him yet, but I’m really curious right now. He’s not your average preacher- he’s pretty well-off probably due to his loyal congregation and he’s financially savvy and he’s very well-connected in various organizations that I wouldn’t mind aligning myself with.
I don’t even feel like I’d necessarily had to date him- I feel like I would have this man wrapped around my finger if I really wanted to. On a serious note, I’ve never been interested in becoming a 1st Lady and having the church folks critiquing my every move as well as my family. I feel like I couldn’t be myself without being judged.

Faith Found Ideas for Choosing Diplomatically There are many ways to come up with a great youth group title. Inspiration can come from songs, passages of scripture, favorite verses, books, Christian humor or revisiting slogans and phrases from pop culture and turning them into a name for your group. The youth pastor or the pastoral staff may determine the name. Deciding the name can also involve a current youth group member.
Use a creative activity to determine the final name of the group. Vote Tentative names may be listed on sheets of paper and church or youth members can anonymously vote for the name they like best or feel is most reflective of the group’s mission. The name with the most vote wins. Suggestion Box A suggestion box can be placed in a prominent area, and interested people can suggest name ideas. The youth pastor can determine the most appropriate name out of the suggestion box or combine elements of various suggestions to come up with a unique name.
Host a Contest Hosting a contest can be fun both for initial start up youth groups and current groups renaming. Outlines rules regarding what needs to be included, word limitations and other guidelines, then have youths enter name suggestions.

Post Mortem: Why Do Women Have All The Advantages In Dating?
March 6, Pastor Tinashe Zinyemba LAST week we mentioned that a Godly relationship should be different and I felt the need to revisit something that we touched on last year — dating and courtship. I came across some interesting material and decided to share it for your benefit. It is a choice to not emotionally give away your heart, piece by piece, to many others through casual dating relationships and instead to give your whole heart to your life partner.
It is a decision to walk by faith, to trust in God, to honour others above yourself, and to believe that God will deal bountifully with you, because He is love. Individuals, family, and circumstances is unique, it also means that each courtship is unique.

Not many couples would seek help and strive to rebuild a relationship that started backwards. My husband and I set boundaries when we began steadily dating. He brought up the idea first, and I really respected him for it.
In fact, I was more attracted to him for it.
